Hometown: Michigan
Years Hunting: 20 years. Has been a member of Ameristep's Prostaff for 4 years.
Infatuated at the childish age of 5, his daddy began piggybacking him into the outdoors. And more than 20 years later, Ronald Eaton is still infatuated with the outdoors. This infatuation created the building blocks for what is now called, “Taggin Out Hunting.” Ronald opened his DVD production company in the 2009 and has launched the first release, “Fillin Tags and Reachin Limits.” Ronald identifies his greatest hunting accomplishment as reflecting on memorable times shared with family and friends. He has recorded 5 big game animals in the Michigan Big Game Records. He has worked on the Ameristep prostaff for 8 years, Hardcore Decoys prostaff, and has been a shooter for Darton Archery. Taggin Out Hunting is currently sponsored by BuckFever Synthetic Scents, Stink Stick, Away Hunting Products, Outdoor Dreams Hunting Products, and Nockturnal Lighted Nocks. Ronald is a lifetime member of Commemorative Bucks of Michigan. He has been on Michigan Out of Doors Television, inside the Fish & Game Finder magazine, inside the Michigan Sportsman magazine, and published articles in the Buck Fax Publication. Oddly enough, if he was to choose only 1 favorite animal to hunt it would without question be the Canada goose but he really enjoys the chase of all game. He considers his greatest contribution to the sport is to introduce new people to hunting. “Make it happen!”

Hunting Tip: Less is More. My favorite strategy for hunting public land ducks is to use the opposite of what everyone else is using. Often times, I will toss out 1 hen mallard and 5 teal decoys and out gun guys tossing 2 to 4 dozen mallard decoys. Those birds are educated and have seen it all so being different can be the difference of a fair hunt versus a good hunt. |
